Tehama is far enough away and my wife is about to have a baby anyday so that scouting is not  feasible.  One can't get access to the area until your weekend anyway.  Anyone that has some familiarity with the hunt or area and could pass along some info would sure be appreciated.

I put in for the final weekend because I am about to have a little one.  I recieved a letter with the permit to hunt in the mail yesterday.  You don't get much more info than where to enter and the combination of the lock for your weekend.

Hi Dakota
I also got picked for the final weekend hunt.
I hunted there in the deer season last year and scored a nice 5x5.
The area for pig hunting was walk in only at that time but from what I could see it was not too hilly with scattered trees and lava rock.
When driving in I would recomend NOT comming in from the west on Hogs Back rd. It is four wheel drive only!
I'll be camping starting on friday
Bring enough water because there isnt anything except the river if  you dont.
As for hunting I think glassing the hills and shooting at long range will be the way to go, the deer I got was next to the pig area and I spotted him almost a mile away and dropped him with a 300 yard shot
good luck and might see you there

Howdee Guys, my wife and I got drawn for March 23 and 24th. I believe that is the last weekend.

I just bought my wife a new compact Ruger in 308 for my wife and she is excited to start hunting.  She has been practicing and is shooting well.

Looking forward to the hunt.

I have a pair of 15x56 Swarovski Binos, should I bring them for glassing?

Scott, you are right!!! It is a long way to drive to shoot a pig.  However, my wife and me we are saving hundreds of dollars in tresspass fees that we would have to pay at a private ranch.  And the closest place I know of is Fort Tejon, and that is about 250 miles away, what's another 400 miles....

It will be a fun mini hunting vacation.

I will be driving a white Nissan 4x4 extended cab truck.

See you there.
