I got a call from my friend fri morn, him "where going hog huntingthis weekend your invited", me "hell yes" Same ranch I had hunted prior, lots of pigs, east of Visalia. head up at 9 pm sleep in rig at meeting spot, meet up about 1 hour late friend was driving from San Jose, 7, 500 acres , after a hour of glassing and driving, I spot a huge sow up about 1,200 yds moving horrizontal, get pumped, it was way steep, then a huge boar making his way up the ridge away from us.

2 groups of us. I talked to Danny and deceied the put the stalk on, helacoius up hill climb, it was 30 dgrees in morn, but after climbing about 1,000 ft had to shed the jacket, spot hogs to the left eating on shady side of ravine 600 yds one alone good size sow, single cow near it, get about 150 yds, sun shing right in scope dont like shot, move to shade cow busts me and takes off, freeze, sow hi tails up ridge, two more huge sows up to rt start getting spooked also, took shot , my bad, missed but was not sure so we hiked up the ridge to look, nada, long trek down and back, on way down saw group fo piglets that got separated hallin butt, down ridge.

no more sightings until , DAY 2 , east side of ranch, get in open land cruiser, this time with gloves, cold!, 20 mins later, little boar alone scooting acrross to rt 85 yds, BOOM, danny says high, chit, me watching, he goes down good, but got up and layed down find him 40 yds away shot above rt leg, no squealing. 2nd shot to finish.

Done early, great fun got some quail later after lunch and friend shot a good size bobcat.

pics later

Yah , that was first time I have seen acorns in the stomach, looked like grain on top of that grass on the open stomach, that was one full little boar.

Im ready to go again!

Looks like a perfect meat hog. Should make for some really tasty pork. Congrats.

Here we go with the morality police again. Read the post before you start flapping your trap. He clearly stated it wasn't him and they weren't drinking when they were hunting. Get off your damn high horse.

Great job on the pig!!

Although it's a nice pig, I might have enjoyed the picture of the jeep more (nice looking rig) and the ranch (good looking property), with the gut pile a distant third.
