Got permission on private land

Alright, I made friends with a girl whos parents own Driscoll's. They own a large ranch in Ano Nuevo right in front of the point bordering the big basin redwood national park. She says they have seen pig rootings up there. I've been there once and saw a bobcat and 2 bucks, this was without even looking for game. Does anyone know if there actually is hogs around here?

Oh yeah there are pigs up there. That's not too far from me...Crodog's place is even closer.

Whats the terrain like? Is it mostly redwood forests?

There used to be lots of hogs in Big Basin. The park had hired a license trapper and trapped most of the hogs from there in the last couple of years. I'm sure there are still some hogs in the area, but good luck finding them in the redwood timber.

It can be coastal plains, oak/hardwood forest, and coniferous..
During this time of the year they sure love to root up the young grass in the soft soil, and of course go after the acorns.

If not, it's a very nice score on your part.

The Park Dept lost the funding for the trapper, so the pig populations will be on the rise again....lots of big timber bucks in the area to keep you on your toes though.

They live in Aptos and did not sell the ranch...pretty cool area, they own a valley with a creek and have a few bunkhouses and a tipi set up...perfect hunting camp. I'm pretty sure most of that area is redwood forest. Near their house up there is more chaparral with some hardwoods mixed in. Ill be driving up there early on friday to hunt friday afternoon. Hopefully I'll find a good spot friday afternoon and set up there saturday morning. Party doesnt start until well after dark so I'll have a full day of hunting.

Oh, and we're not dating or nothing...I just like to lick girls
