It looks like some wild piggies paid the Rancho a visit the other night...

Now, how should I welcome them?

Rancho Loco, If you need a hand skinning, I'll bring the beer. I work right down the hill on Highway 9.

Rancho,

I will have to agree with all the posts, I am going to be in Boulder Creek this weekend, bow in hand, let me know if you would like this problem to go away. I can also provide beer!

On a serious note, we have a piece of property off of Bloom Ridge above the golf course in Boulder Creek, but I have never seen any sign at all, have seen a ton of black tail though. How big a population is there in that area?

Apparantly I just need to hang around the golf course. I am not sure how the sound of bow string twanging would work for someone getting ready to tee off.

Have to do a bit more exploring.

Cheers,

John

That looks like it is on the fairways? Maybe I can get a minium wage job there as a greenskeeper there! Or would the golf course allow one just to rid them of their plague? Just getting into hunting, never knew they were so distructive...

The population used to be incredable around Boulder Creek, but over 500 hogs were trapped and killed
at Big Basin State park , and Butano scince that photo of the golf course damage.
There are still a good number of hogs, just not the abundance there was a couple of years ago.

a buddy of mine used to have a piece of land on the upper end of bloom grade near little basin rd. There was some sign of hogs passing thru there once and a while, and they have torn up the the H P field more than once. I think most of the hogs that hit the golf course are coming down from the jamison creek.

Looks like this weekend is going to be spent scouting Boulder Creek a little more thoroughly than I had in the past. Made a couple of phone calls this morning and secured permission to scout some property off of Jamison Creek. I will report back on my findings to those who are interested.
