I wouldn't get too carried away, Bryan.

It won't end handgun sales, particularly since it only effects semi-autos and won't come into effect until 2010... unless a successful appeal is raised (highly likely).

It is a pointless and ineffective law that only adds burdens to law abiding gun owners and businesses.

Good luck on this one. The law says the data is to be etched from two redundant places. I suppose the tip of the firing pin would be one leaving the chamber wall and/or bolt face as the universe of other available spots. It wouldn't take Albert Einstien to figure out replacing a firing pin or burnishing the tip against a fine abrasive could defeat the process. As to an imprint from the bolt or chamber wall, how about those steel cased rounds from Russia?

Better to buy the handgun you want now before these changes cause the prices to go up.
