I took my son to Cedar Canyon this weekend after his high school graduation. He made a great shot on a 100# pig about 175Yds across a canyon just before dark. His first pig after putting in many hours at Camp Roberts over the last 3 years. After Lee Harvey put it down with one shot he gutted it and dragged it about 3/4 mile up and down some hills and when we got back to camp he skinned it and had his first beer with his proud Dad.

That absolutely rocks, Batch!

Congrats to you and the boy! Oh, and I cleared the double post for you, too.

First pig, cool, but no big whoop. First beer? Whooo-hooo! Now there's something to celebrate. Congrats all the way around.

Hunt Hard,

It looks like the Russian Boars are $500 based on their web-site. It's and exotic ranch so no license or tags needed.

Conradulations to father and son. Cool pictures too. You mind giving me the number for the ranch, I assume it was a private ranch.

It's Huntcedarcanyon.com. $200 for the hunt. $300 for the kill and $300 for each additional kill. Plus the guide there will process your meat ready for the freezer for an additional fee. The pigs are Europeans and spook easy. It's not a slam dunk hunt and the terrain is very much like Tejon. A great archery hunt and a good rifle or pistol hunt.

That's a great father/son hunt, good pics too. Thanks for the report. My dad took me hunting all the time when I was in high school.. Now, I'm taking him into the woods.

Emphasis on "with his proud Dad" I doubt it was his first beer.

I still remember my first beer with dad. Trolling for northern pike in a remote lake in northern Saskatchewan. It was great, just me him and the fish. Sounds like you guys had a great time you will always remember!

Welcome back! You'll enjoy this forum and you'll have a good number of like-minded hog hunters up there in your neck of the woods.

Enjoy,
