I will be on standby. My brother had a heart attack Monday and is in the ICU. He is doing better today but you never know. He’s been on a kidney transplant list for 7yrs with no luck. Poor kid, he’s only 34.

Does anyone have a cell phone that works on the ranch just in case? I have AT&T and can barely get a signal in town. I will bring my wife’s phone also (Sprint).

My mom was on a kidney machine for 14 years. Now she has a donated kidney for the last 12. It took her about 7 years so hopefully your brothers is here soon.

I also have a kidney problem, Polycystic kidney dicease. Basically cists grow on the kidney and eat your kidneys away. Check-ups for me every 6 months.

I have been dealing with kidney stuff for ever, so if you have any Q's, let me know and I will answer to the best I can. If I don't know the answer my mom does. She is Pres. of kidney transplant groups in San Luis Obispo.

Pitdog, I have made calls from the ranch using Verizon and AT&T. You just need to get to the top of a ridge and you shouldn't have any problems.

It's a drag about your brother. Hope it comes along positively.

As to phone service, I've seen Sprint and Verizon phones working well up on the ridges. Of course, nothing works in the canyons. One thing you could do would be to use the Ranch phone numbers for an emergency contact, and they can contact or find you (for example, on Friday and Saturday nights in camp)... or if it's really major they can find you in the field.

I'm using Verizon, and you're welcome to give my number as a contact. Shoot me an email, and I'll send you info.

And to think, my wife can't understand why I would rather go on a JHO Ham Slam instead of an anniversary dinner.
For those of you who missed my post, my 11th or 12th (not sure… my daughter turned 10 in Jan so I need to have options) anniversary is May 22 and the wife has made a list of honey due’s. I just finished putting in new faucets in all the bathrooms and I think she wants me to clean the garage???
This is torture! She promised not to ever mention the hunting trip (on the ann.) If I complete her Hitler list.
Saw my Brother today and he looks like crap. He told me if I don’t go hunting on his account, he will “cap me”.

Sounds dangerous.

Guess I need to put away all the stuff I have been getting ready and cleaning before she gets home from work, plus start a very NICE dinner for US when she gets home. Lets see, kids washed and waxed, homework done, books signed, wash in dryer, dishes cleaned, trash taken out, NASTY bathroom trash taken out as well, put on some stupid sitcom (i.e. turn off Outdoor Channel), ......

Let's set CB, HAM and FRS channels to monitor also. Last time I missed Chris (Dilproxo) getting a pig right above me and left him all alone to drag out a hog. A radio would have made a world of difference.

CB - monitor channel 12.
FRS - monitor ch 2. No Privacy code. 462.5875 mhz
HAM - 144.450 mhz, no PL.

If you need help, hail on those channels and hopefully someone will hear you and help or relay to someone to come help.

I'll also have drawing tickets for some prizes Saturday night so make sure you get a drawing ticket. I'll give some to Phil too so see one of us for a ticket for the drawings.
