I remember in the past to bring a handgun on to Fort Hunter Liggett it had to have at least a 6" bbl. I don't see anything on the website about it, just non lead requirments etc. I heard now a handgun only needs a 4" bbl or longer....can anyone confirm this? Also how's the pig n deer hunting been?

Thank you. I was planning on getting a FHL side arm(6"bbl) but my 4 5/8" RSBH will do just fine . I quess they just follow the DFG rules now.

Hi Troggy- I have hunting FHL for many years and the last rule on pistols was the following: 6 inch or longer on barrel and min of 38 cal. I am not sure it has changed or not but been like that for years.
I tried to find the latest FHL regs here and it does not list the handgun requirement. http://www.liggett.army.mil/pdf/fish&huntPDF/HFreg_pamphlet_WEB.pdf

Might be good to ask before you go out into the field just in case. Have a good hunt!
