Well, my wife and kids are all proud of themselves that they surprised dad with a "wild" pig hunt for a Father's day present. It's at Big Horn Canyon ranch this thursday... Yeah yeah laugh it up! Anyway I just look at it like I'm going shopping for meat at the meat market. I'll get a freezer on ebay and bring my traditional muzzleloader just for kicks. So bring it on. Lets hear it from all the haters... I've read the posts. Don't really give a s&^t what anybody thinks. I thanked my wife and ktids for the thoughtful gift, gonna grab my meat box and black powder Hawkens with the 390 gr. conicle and iron sights and find the fattest sow I can locate and have a great time!!

Now it would be really funny if I didn't get one!!

Happy Father's Day!
Kevin

Sweet!!. I shot my first pig at BHCR when I was a lot younger. Dude, it's meat!! I wouldnt mind trying that place with a bow. Anyways, you will have some tasty porkchops for sure. The hog I shot from the ranch was a good eating 130 pound sow. Sounds like a good present to me.

WOW! Youu sound greatful.

You should feel lucky!!!!

If my wife put any effort into a hunting trip it would be awsome. Even if it were just a tease.

hey i got a nap ( and a gps that i bought) for f-day. fell lucky most wife's only allow the hunting and never make an effort to get you out of the house. have fun maybe take your kid with you if they are of age. Use a spear hell an air rifle just enjoy the gift. its pretty cool that your wife and kids at least put forth the effort.

Just wait by the pile of carrots and shoot them at 10 yards.

You are talking crazy Kevin. I don't care where it is, if I get a hunting trip as a present I am going. Any day in the field beats a day in the office. Be happy the wifey doesn't complain that you only take vacation time to go hunting, not to spend with her.

Lucky man!

First--a gift is a gift. You're obviously thankful...and who wouldn't be.

Even more than that--the fact that it's from your wife makes it doubly sweet.

Hey, it is what it is. Enjoy every second--there will be PLENTY of tough hunts down the road...and when the sausages hit the 'barby' nobody cares...and neither should you.

Cheers!

Look at the bright side, those farm raised hogs (errrr feral hogs) are going to taste a 100% better than some old ranky wild hog! Sounds like you're going into this with the right attitude. What's the difference between Disneyland and BHCR. They're both there for entertainment. Good luck, enjoy, and have a great time. Consider Leon's custom meats in Glen Avon if you're looking for a good butcher on the way home.

Thanks for the butcher tip!
The difference between Disneyland and BHCR is that Disneyland is much more exspensive!!

Your a blessed man. You have a family that loves and cares about you, and you get to go kill a pig. I hope you have a great time. Take pictures.

Your son will remember this for his whole life. My son's are all grown, and I never got to hunt with them, I envy you. My boys are coming down to visit in August and I hope to take them out hogdogging. Looking forward to the video my friend.
