Hey Hairlessone,

thought I'd respond..I know what its like to post and no one even says, I don't know!!!!

LOLOLOLOLOL

But here is an idea..get a outline of a pig or exotic and put it on an overhead projector,
enlarge it to the size you want on a wall and trace it out , then take the trace and put it on a sheet of plywood ,cut it out ,paint it black and set it up where you hunt.  You may be surprised!!

Have you got a good outline of the animal of choice?, if not, you can find some good ones in the back of hunting magazines.

Good luck!!

I don't really know what would happen when hunting hogs, but I do know that using a live decoy works for trapping big boars.  I would set a trap, built a pen at the back with a top so the wild hogs could not get in there with the sow that was in heat.  They would find the door and think they could get to the sow and go thru the door and trip it and they were caught.  So I would think that if you had some kind of decoy and there was hogs around they might be curious enough to come check it out.

I would think that a decoy would work.  My experiance with hogs have been that if a single hog two is in the area relaxed and eating than other hogs tend to come in and not be as jittery as they are when they are the "first" to enter an area to eat.  When the first one tends to enter he takes it kinda slow walks a little and then stops etc...  Now granted this has been the case for me and I hunt hogs over feeders and I have stalked them.  Stalking them is a blast with a bow.  If you have never done it, try it but be warned be quick on the shot and make sure the shot is a good hit or you'll be chasing him for days...When stalking you could walk right up on them within 10 feet and never know it until they jump up and take of like a bat out of He??  They like really, really, really thick cover.  Good Luck and have fun with it.
