Myself and a group of guys are heading up to Choppers in the morning. Most of the others have hunted Choppers before, I'll be the new guy. First bow hunt, first pig hunt. I've always hunted public land for deer, elk and everything else, so paying to hunt is new to me.

I'm going to try to provide some updates to post up.

Good luck EL C. You'll love it, Chopper's ranch is an awesome place to go hog hunting. I wish I could join you, I'm dying to get back out there and stick another one. Give us some good reports, it's been a little slow in the forum lately. - YB

Is Choppers place now hunted every weekend? Last year when I called him he was only hunting every other weekend. Good luck to you and your group. It looks like the weather will be much nicer this weekend than todays rain. Pick a spot...

Nope, not hunted every weekend & he shuts down the hog hunting throughout deer season. It's also 4000 acres which is plenty of property to hunt and no way you can cover that much ground in a weekend....atleast i can't successfully.
That being said, i've hunted his place numerous times & finding hogs typically isn't a problem, getting a lethal shot in one is.

This year I had a few back to back hunts but the whole operation will change next year. Less hunts for sure. More info will be available on my website in the near future when we upgrade and revamp the whole thing.

Amen to that!

X, you guys'll have a blast! With the weather and the available food this year, we're looking at a bumper crop of hogs!

There's gonna be enough acorns to gag a ground squirrel up there this year.

Thanks AS and Bigtusker. Bigtusker, what do you mean by "revamp the whole thing"? More dates, less dates, fewer hunters? Based on the online reports (I've never been there) and the fact that your fees have increased over the past few years I wouldn't think you would want to change a thing. Good luck to your successful niche. By the way, where are the reports that usually flow in by this time?

Buckfinder....chopper has some great ideas for next year that will result in less pressure on the hogs & probably more harvests. He'll have all the details on his website towards the end of the year....good stuff!

We should have some reports tomorrow afternoon or Saturday morning.....best of luck to the guys there!

Up at choppers now, one guy had a shot but missed. Me and Corky saw 3

Nope the Ford 150. I made the mistake of wearing shorts in the truck, on the way to pick up some crown, and now I have poison oak

Live from the cabin.
We had some decent shots but nothing sticking. Turkeys are gobbling like crazy. Best sound in the world!

Heading out in a few for an evening hunt. This place is beautiful. I hope to have an update later tonight and tomorrow!
