ok..my friends and family are trying to spread out the luck of the draw. i have NM down pat. i know where to go; well, i know where to "wish" to go. i am looking at the montana website and it is daunting.

i have access to a cabin at georgetown lake. between missoula and butte. co-workers cabin. he states that he has seen lots of elk (dead in trucks, and on the hoof). i also looked at maps of the missouri river break area. very tempting indeed. but i will need to research it further. the website doenst talk too much about any points system. (ALS?)

what else? what about the two areas i mentioned? this will be archery only.

now wyoming. i am waiting to hear from a friend. he lives in Wyoming, and has a garage full of antlers. another points system? i am busy at work, and cant cruise F&G sites all day. i wish. let me find out where he lives, and get back with my wyoming questions.

Sancho, I'm sure someone here can help you out (I can't, sorry). If not, it may be worth your while to look into some of the outfits that specialize in helping hunters like yourself determine hunting areas and navigate the points systems. I know Cabelas has this type of program, and I'm sure there are others. If you go that route, though, be careful. Caveat emptor, always!

Sancho, unfortunately I can't help with the region you asked about.
I do know that Montana has bone-us points. I bought mine the last two times I applied and have been turned down in the drawing both times. When everyone that applies buys a bone-us point it just evens out the field amongst all that apply. If I don't pay the 20 bucks for one this year when I apply, I'll lose the two I already have. What a skam.
