Are you saying that you dont beleive this happenes or you just dont buy the numbers? cuz I was actually being conservative on the numbers i thought?
Check yesterdays SJ mercury news. eight deer to be killed by so called proffesional bowhunters in east San Jose in the hope that killing these 8 will drive the rest of them back into the hills! Anybody tell me what is a professional bowhunter? and how do you get to be one?

I have gone out every evening so far this week and plan on going out tonight and then Im takin tommorow off work and goin huuntin in the morning, Then Im going to go hunting some more this weekend. Seen my buck 3 times now and he just wont give me a shot.
I started by taping up my fractured ankle and stuffing it into my 9" high Rocky boot. Loading up my new Badlands 2200 with about 1/2 the gear i need for an overnighter and 100oz. H20. then walking the long way from the bottom of the canyon around the property and up from the backside over the top back to my jeep. Day 1, 6 miles no sign of deer not to bad. Day 2 3 miles thought i was gonna die wanted to leave my new pack in the bottom of the canyon. Ankle hurt like hekema. no deer sighted. Day 3 stayed home and iced the ankle. My son calls me " seen your buck by the tree tonight!" gee thanks i needed that. tonight changed plans already gonna stay home and ice the ankle and try in the morning maybe it's the moon!

Franklin,in order to become a professional bowhunter you have to go through stringent testing,to see if you got what it takes.They have a listing in the yellow pages"Hinky College".I even think they will get you a job when you graduate.I think any farmland should go to the upmost to keep out deer.A few may need to be taken care of,but I don't think a slaughter is at hand.Hogs is a different deal.Upper

frank, take it easy grasshopper, it will happen, the deer have a way of sensing anxiety,take a stroll
out with the boy with your bow, probably whack the deer your after soon as you step foot out of the truck, no need for the ankle taping and sleepless nights

i looked for Hinckey College in my "Other Yellow Pages" but only found reference to a jewish house of worship do I have to become jewish to be a professional bowhunter?
Hatchet I hate to disagree with you, BUT I'm pretty sure it's the moon! Big moon! no critters! no moon lotta critters! at least thats what I see on this particular hill! I could be wrong though, it could be the creeks drying up too!
As for the anxiety well let me tell you this!

Anxiety was getting the call from the credit card company about two hours ago wanting to know if I had just made multiple purchases this morning on my company credit card through,.............get this!.................a Hong Kong Holding Company?..........................I need to get a clue here anybody tell me WTF's a Hong Kong Holding Company? Wait a minute I slept in this morning and havent even been on ebay since ...............uh? yesterday! Didnt buy anything since lets see GoLite 2man tent? that 2was last week and selller was Snoball somethin, hm..................Oh maybe that personal cooling device! Nope again that was from the same seller, Snoball whatever..........4lbs of imported Italian candies? nope got them through Amazo.com they were only 50 bucks?...........................Last thing before that was a new ring mount to hold my 300mm canon lens on the tripod!.......... Nope pretty sure I never did business with no HK holding Co.................................................. So cancel my card, run it right through the shredder! wait for a new card to show up in a week or so and a pile of paperworckto file to dispute the charges. This is the second time this has happened! Oh whats this got to do with anxiety you ask? well nothing really by itself I got lots of credit cards and I will get this straightned out but I should be out in the field right now looking for that buck! instead Im here talking to stupid credit card companies! Alrighty the if you guys are gonna all gang up on me then I guess the only response I can have is to go hunting.
This morning I got a partner from work to help me start laying some carpet in the ranch house. Kids are starting to move in this comeing week. After a few hours of that we decided to go build a tree stand.
Yesterday he and I sat in my cadillac treestand on a really hot hog trail. Nothing but elk darn it! At right around 8:00pm a group of about a dozen or so pigs started trotting down the trail on their way to water. They came to within twenty yards of us but stopped short, turned hard left and headed down the creek away from us. then we heard another group of maybe two or three in the creek splashing around upstream from us. We must have been winded cuz they all ran away and we settled for a nice time sitting in a tree.
We determined I needed another treestand cuz Im stubborn and dont want to move mine so we buit an okie treestand over the trail the group of hogs took when they turned and ran off from us. We will see what happens from there. This evening after the birthday dinner I think I will sneak off while nobody is paying Attention and try it out.
It seems to always happen that if i go pig hunting I keep running into deer! and when Im deer hunting I keep running into pigs! And no matter what Im hunting I keep running into Elk!
I wonder what Im going to run into when I eventually draw an elk tag?
So Im going back out after supper deer hunting! and if I get a shot at a pig im taking that cuz i keep all my tags together. No wait! I mean Im going pig hunting and if I see a deer Im gonna fling a sharp pointy stick at him!
I will be glad when we're done working on this house!

One last little tidbit on this subject.For all of you that don't like the pig in the teeth deal,what about all the blown to bits ground squirrels,the little bunny in the shade,maybe thinking about a little cactus for lunch,but no a .204 has him for lunch.Now the squeeks may need to be taken care of in most areas.But in my mind for someone to say (I don't shoot coyotes during the whelping) Jeess are you raising them just so you can shoot them?Why are you shooting them in the first place? Are they killing your cattle,your cats,your dogs,Or are you just shooting them because you can?Don't get me wrong I shoot my share of squeeks,dogs ,pigs,I'm not to hard on the bunnys,but it is not for sport.Upper
