Sure Gil, I haven't used it too much yet (waiting for the snow to melt). I'll take some pics with it before the weekend is over.
Here's one that I posted before as a B&W. It was shot hand held with a focal length of 22mm, I'll take some at 10mm and a few other focal lengths.
edit- LOL, please don't let this one image be what you base your decision on, it's not the best... I was kneeling in knee deep snow and I was in a hurry when I took it.
thanks Clutch - i remember that in B&W. i hear ya about the snow - been a long winter - hey today helped though. I think i'd like this lens - havent really heard anything bad about it. Gotta get my truck inspected first and I might just maybe have enough left over....
Well most of the snow is gone, but it rained all afternoon. I'll try to get a few halfway decent images up with the lens soon. If you check out the Landscape section of fredmiranda.com, you can see quite a few pics taken with the lens.
Gil, here's an image I took this afternoon @ 10mm. I'm sure if someone who knew what they were doing used the lens, they could get better results. A couple of cons with the lens... I get a little lens vignette (fixable with CS2). If you wanted to upgrade your camera body to a 5D or one of the 1D's, you couldn't use the lens. And, sometimes, it's just too wide. If I were looking for a wide-angle lens again, I would probably go with the 17-40mm f/4L USM (cost about the same as the 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 EF-S USM).
That's a great link Zach! It shows what I meant by "And, sometimes, it's just too wide." If you look at the focal lengths for most of the images, you can see most of them were taken on the 22mm side... I only found one that was taken @ 12mm. I think unless you spend a lot of time around wide open places, the 10-22mm probably isn't the best choice for a wide-angle lens.
Thanks guys. Cluth - two nice images there. It's definitely a solid performing lens. I can see it being too wide for a walk around, but it does serve it's place in the right situations. Nice to have some decent weather finally, eh? 79° here today. I finally got to break out my camera - unfortunately I found out I got some serious dust on my sensor.
