lots of new sign. i kicked a steaming turd over. my wife came with me for the hiking experience. she thought i was weird getting excited over pig poo. anyways she did great. we saw some great deer, and scared the bejeezus out of a bobcat. first one i have seen there.

i judo tipped several stumps out to 60 yards. center punched them. i had to show off to the little lady.

question: what are those huge doves flying about? whitewing doves? they are big as pigeons!

No wonder you don't see any pigs if you call it a "hike". Of course, most of my hunting is "armed hiking" but I still call it hunting. :D

bandtail pigeons..thanks sidepass.

those things make me pee alittle everytime you are creeping through the thick stuff and they flush from the treetops.

i didnt hear a single shotgun shot. there were people everywhere. lots of truck tracks pulling thick mud onto the road from parking on the sides in mud puddles. i did see one guy, ROADHUNTUNG!

Hunted the Cooley ranch 2 weeks ago monday. Freezing cold and the night before a full moon. Lots of sign but no pig for me. But like you said while moving slowly thru the trees the pigeons would bust out and scare the bejesus out of you.

My last time out there I came across 2 dead pigeons. No blood or any sign that they had been shot. But there are a ton of those damn things and yes the get your heart pumping everytime you flush them. A road hunter huh? does not surprise me at all for this month.

Those pigeons always get me too! The worst is when they keep landing ahead of you and make all that racket when they take of again.
