hillside hog heaven

been quite a few years since i went there, so i dont really remember prices--for a one day hunt it was kinda average if you got a second pig the price was better--bunk house was clean, i went up the afternoon before the hunt, which was mid week spent the nite, got up with the guide who drove us to the other side of the property and put us on pigs within 20 minutes!!! seen alot of pigs 50+ over the course of the day--got a pig after switching bows after lunch [missed 5 shots with the mathews] terrain was about average for pigs home, as far as the guide rob i think is his name??? he rubbed me the wrong way we ran into a pig it was about 30+ yards away walking at a steady pace and he's over my shoulder say shoot shoot shoot!!! after the pig walks he says hey you gotta be able to pull the trigger on those shots!!! whatever--- love the ranch and bunch of pigs there, you could tell they dont get much pressure cause where ever he said there should be pigs here there where there!!!!

???????

thats hard to say-- the one time i went to choppers gets you spoiled!! but if his price was good enough and knowing what he's like, i'd tell him up front just show me the pigs and i'll be happy, no coaching needed!! I would go again

hotryde,

you are right on. I had the same experience you had. Got my first pig there, I have never even seen a wild hog before and he was giving me crap for not shooting at a boar we saw early in the hunt... I did not shoot it because I did not want to, but because i was just looking at it and taking it all in :)

After I got my pig, he was pretty cool though.

I agree. If he would just turn me loose in there, I would go back there again. He likes to be with you because his policy is if you miss a hog and it trots off, don't try to stalk up on it again.. just let it trot off and move to a different location. he told me it keeps the hogs on his property. whatever, but I did see hogs pretty darn quick and the place is crawling with them.

wtpops, nope.. no web site.
