I got my first public land (D13) buck this year, 2 bucks in 2 years. This guy is my third hog in 2 years. All it took was one time and I was hooked. This is the biggest one so far. I am having him mounted and will post a pick when it is done.

I got this guy on a ranch in Santa Maria. He was headed back to the thick stuff early am.

That is a great looking hog. I grew up in Nipomo, and wish I still had some of my old connections. I hear there are hogs the inthe foothills in Santa Maria and Nipomo.

Great job

I used a rifle. I want to get into bow hunting, but i need to have shoulder surgery. I tried to pull back on a bow last year and pulled my shoulder out of the socket. I just can't justify the 4-6 months it will take to get back.

My wife saw the pictures and said that the mount won't make it past the garage and my 2 year old said that the "piggy looks happy"

As much as I don't want to admit defeat before a fight, I think that she already won.

Kinda looks like the Righetti ranch.....

Nice hog. I've got one at the taxidermist right now and told my wife it's going right at the foot of the bed. (I'm sure mine will be in the garage too)

thanks for the reply RG, i wish you speedy recovery with your shoulder my friend!
why not just do a nice euro mount with a picture frame background of you with your hog kill. maybe that would be cool with the wifey.
until your shoulder gets better why not try a crossbow for hog hunting, its like shooting a gun with bow estatics, the best of both worlds! so have a great day my friend and we will chat agian soon........tra

I am still considering having surgery. I teach and coach baseball, so there is never a good time. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
