They are legal, but so far in my experience, they're not worth a flip.
I've tried the blackberry and the corn scents so far. I think the biggest problem is that they don't replicate any smells the hogs (where I hunt) are familiar with. There's no corn out there, and the blackberry smells like candy.
Also tried the Tinks boar scent and sow-in-heat, but haven't seen a lot of response. At Tejon, something did pull down my sow-in-heat wick, but I think it was more likely a curious coyote than a hog. Hard to tell... set some up at my friend's high-fence place, and the eurasian boars totally ignored it.
thanks speck. ive got a couple of different scents and some code scents im going to try. hopefully i get some kind of response. i dont know anybody personally that has had luck with them, just what i read. thanks again. Rooster
I was thinking that a scent like sour corn or say fox urine(which all pigs would be familiar with) might at least serve has an effective cover scent. I once sprayed some bush's with sour corn scent and a small boar came within 50 yards of me but thats not scientific proof in of itself. Anybody have experience say with cover scents?
