Got up to the ranch yesterday and this morning with a friend. Nothing moving yesterday but we were encouraged when we looked at what was on the game cameras, including the two linked below. I like the cute little striped piglet at the end of each of them - he'll be easy to spot when he gets a little older!

Nothing moving this morning so my friend took off around 10. I decided to do one more loop on the quad and lo and belold spotted what was probably this same bunch of hogs crossing the ridge at exactly where this camera is located. They were moving pretty quickly but I figured I might be able to get a shot off as they headed up the other side of the valley so I ran over to a rocky point that looks over the valley and the several trails they take into the cover. Sure enough, a couple of minutes later I see them headed up the hill and am able to shoot at the last one, probably a 175 yard shot as he was heading up the hill. I think I may have hit him as he jumped, but they all bolted into the thick stuff and were gone.

I didn't pull the memory card from the trail cam, will be interested to see if it's the same group.

I think he'll lose his stripes. We see a lot of 'em like that when they're little.
