Hog Free

Our Farmer wanted to plan some grain and asked me about hogs. I told him go ahead. This field used to get destroyed by hogs, not now.

What did you do to make it hog free?some claim that hunting is bad for controlling hogs. Some states are outlawing hunting outright . Saying it makes them harder to trap. Just curious what your thoughts are ?

I don’t think trapping will work and banning hunting would make it worse. There’s no magic solution. I keep track of where and when hogs come into a field with game cams. I’ll setup in those areas and hit them when they come in. I have a thermal scope so if they come in at night it doesn’t matter. You have to keep at it or they will keep coming But to get hogs out of an area you have to go find them and that’s not easy.

Sounds like a good plan . at least 6 states have banned or partially banned pig hunting. I think it’s bs personally. I understand an all out war on them. But not allowing hunting is just another in the long line of restrictions against hunting
