Well, those boys are out there and it's gone and got dark. Me? I'm sitting here in this damned office trying to finish a project so I can get down there too!

Wonder if I'm gonna see bloody hands when I arrive? Anybody wanna take a shot at who gets first blood?

Big frontal system coming ashore tomorrow evening. Hope it gets the critters on the move!

Reports to come, I'm sure... stay tuned!

Wtpops had first blood and a good stalk last June. I'd say he's got good odds.

This came from choppers camera phone yesterday afternoon.......who do you think the lucky hunter is?

The color is bad, but you can clearly see hair & an entry wound.

My guess for first blood is The Roman Archer.

Hey all Im back home From a great hunt.
The food and hunting partners were great as it always is a Choppers. The hogs were there.

The weather both hindered and helped.

On Thursday night i found myself sitting on a spring with what looked like hog highways going in and out, but no luck nothing stopped buy to say high.

On friday I went to a place that SacfireJT tried to send me to when i was there in June and i turned the wrong way, anyway this time i found it and he was right that place was just over ran with sign.
I followed the creek down and walked into a canopi of oak trees that almost turned day to night inside. I got to the juntion where a second creek joined and turned up streem there, maded it about another 30 or 40 yards and notined movment to my left. There was about 6 or 7 hogs walking in the same direction i was at about 15 yards, the brush was to thick to get a shot off, I could only see parts and peices and no place to put an arrow. About 5 min later i noticed somthing reddish in the brush, through the glasses on it and it was a big red hog bedded. I spent the next 10 min trying to find a lane to shoot through, two steps here and there, down on my knees, up on my toes, it finely had enough of the noise and got up and walked out the back side of the brush.

The rest of my trip consisted of getting there right after they left or dodging rain. I dont mind hunting rain but im not over a cold i came down with the week before the trip and i could not let miself get wet.

There were opertunities for all, shots taken, shots missed and one hog headed for RWlittlle's freezer Ill let him tell the story on the one.

All in all a very good weekend of hunting. Now I get to count the days until March when ill be on may way back up to try again.
