I would LOVE to win this hunt! I started bow hunting with my dad when I was 12 and havent put it down since. Im 33 now and am still out for my first big game animal. I have never really had the funds to hunt private land and have always did the diy public land hunts. I have gotten close, shot and missed. I have hunted hard and I have hunted the back country and just havent closed the deal. A few years ago I finally had the funds for a pig hunt with my bow and we had a bad weekend out of 6 guys only one scored but thats hunting. I had a great time and the following year went back to the same place and came up empty handed. There have been multiple times I have said to my self if I was rifle hunting there would be blood, but I just love archery and am determined my first big game animal will be with my bow. The economy has tanked and took away the funds for my once a year hunt so its been back to public land.I keep at it because I love the outdoors and what I get to take in when out in the field. If Im chosen taking a pig would just be the icing on the cake.

welcome to our new sponsers!

:typin: being strickly a bow:archer green:hunter and archer i find nothing more challenging more exciting and more dangerous then pursueing a savay game animal like a 350 lb. :pig-laughing:(north american rhino) with stick and string and having a close encounter or face down with one showing 4 in. cutters and the meanest little black devil eye.s that stare deep into your soul just before they charge you! your choice is simple, its either shoot, climb a tree or a short change! but to me its the ultimate adrenilin rush then any other game animal i have hunted. i also really want to share a hog hunt useing dogs because you can see their passion for hunting wild pigs is so infectous and rewarding just like us human hunters they make great partners to share a hunt with.

if i won this hunt package i know as a JHO :JHO rocks:representitive member on this website i would be highly respectfull our new sponsers that are giving away the the hog hunt and be very thankfull for the opportunity to hunt on there privite property for a wild hog, and of course come back and post an exciting wild hog adventure story from our new sponsers successfull or not.

P.S. i promise not to get to excited over finding a hot steaming hog log. and i will leave the ziplocks at home!:rotflmao: ............tra

Good morning all, I would love to win this hunt for my daughter. She is heading off to college next year and we are trying to cram as many things into that time as possible. The set back earlier last month is that I was laid off. On our own we can not afford such a wonderful adventure, but with your help (if we win) this could be the trip of a lifetime. My daughter is an accomplished shotgun shooter, loves the outdooors and all it has to offer. Our utility child does the guy stuff with me and the girl stuff with mom. Winning this hunt would be one of the things we could do together. Thank you to "Just for Hunting" for providing such a cool and unique opportunity! Congratulations to whoever wins this fabulous trip!!

So….? What should my strategy be? Go for the sympathy angle, and write about my wife being laid off? Mmmm, maybe play my “lack of success” card, or illuminate my strong self-taught, hunter ethics? I don’t have any children to take hunting, so I lack a “parent” card…damn! I need to make this good. THINK CLIFF! THINK! Senseless ramblings about my archery only vow will win few awards…ARGGGH! Come on! I took creative writing and received a strong B+. What would Professor Wright want me to write? She would demand that I organize my thoughts, write an introduction paragraph, back it up in the main body and end it with a fantastic summary. Where is my damn creative writing textbook anyways?? Bottom line, do I deserve this? In a nutshell….NO. do I want this, HECK YES? So here is my essay:

Ingredients<o></o>

 • 10 pounds pork shoulder (weighs about 10 pounds)<o></o>
 • Salt and freshly ground black pepper<o></o>
 • 1/4 cup hot sauce<o></o>
 • 1/2 cup red wine vinegar<o></o>
 • 1/2 cup vegetable oil<o></o>
 • 4 habanero peppers<o></o>
 • 6 to 8 bay leaves<o></o>
Directions<o></o>
Heat oven to 350 degrees F. <o></o>
Cut pork into 3 to 4-inch thick slices and lay the slices on heavy duty aluminum foil supported by baking sheets. Rub salt and pepper into the meat. In a small bowl whisk together hot sauce, vinegar and vegetable oil, and brush onto surface of meat on both sides. Use plastic or latex gloves to handle habaneros and protect your eyes and nose from the "fumes." Slice the peppers and lay them and the bay leaves on top of the pork. Wrap the pork in foil, sealing all the seams. Roast slowly in oven until fork tender, about 2 hours, or over an open fire. <o></o>
<o></o>
Bon Appetit!

Thank God For JHO Forum

Why I think I should win this HOG HUNT. I work all the time to provide for my family. Due to the hard times with the economy I am working every chance I get leaving me very little hunting time. When there is time and I make plans to go hunting work always comes up and I can't turn it down. Many years I buy my DEER, BEAR,and PIG TAGS and hardly never get a chance to enjoy them:sad2:. I guess that's the way it is. Maybe one day I will get my wish and bag something. So may be by chance I will win so I have to make time to go :pig-laughing: Hunting and fulfill my Hog Hunting experience. If for some reason I do not win I will keep trying to pursue my dream in Hunting. Thank you for taking the time in reading my little life story. Give me luck.

Here's a good one for you...I grew up in a family of 5 girls and my Dad being the only boy in our family. My Dad thought it was be a good idea to have us go "hunting" for "Hog Eggs" while we were camping one weekend. [He had to keep himself entertained somehow] All girls scurried out on an adventure of finding the magical "Hog Eggs". We all wanted to be the first to find one. Little did my Dad know that we were really camping in a marked off camping ground area where there was a MEAN, viscous momma boar. All ditzy girls roaming the area were quickly summoned by the frantic park rangers telling us to get out nowww!!! My dad had to explain to the Park Rangers that he had sent us out to find "Hog Eggs" as a joke and we would be on our way. Grown and married my husband and I are now avid hunters and would really appreciate and LOVE this trip! Who knows we might find us some "Hog eggs"!!!!

OK, My brother in law ran out on my sister and her two kids. Her son is 12 years old and I have been trying to step in as the male influence. I got him into Hunter's safety just in time for last fall turkeys. We got backdoored by a flock and that's the closest he's got to shooting one. The spring never panned out and here we are again in fall and I am trying to get him on a turkey again.
I have noticed that all his friends are pretty oblivious to the great outdoors and all it does for the soul. Getting him into hunting has been rewarding both for me and him. I spent a lot of time in the woods as a kid and I am trying to give him a similar experience. I LOVE pig hunting. I know that if he could get a pig it would confirm his lifetime commitment to hunting. Which would be great because I don't have a hunting buddy, and now he doesn't have a dad.
I am buying him his first rifle for Christmas and a 75 - 125 lbs pig would be a great first kill. He's a great kid, raises money every year for leukemia research, and with out his old man around could really use a kick start into this lifestyle that is so rewarding.

Thanks

I would like to be considered because I am losing the only hunting partner I have. I have only been hunting for 2 years now and just when I am getting started, he ups and decides to go back in the Navy and to medical school. We have tried unsuccessfully to get a pig at FHL and this would be a great send off to him. I have shot a pig, but he has not. Who knows when we will be able to hunt again together.

I think I really need this hunt...

Ever since my girlfriend left me for one of her co-workers (a.k.a. The Human Tripod) I have been feeling depressed, self conscious and entirely inadequate. My club foot, hair lip and lisp are not helping the situation either.

To make matters worse, I was just laid off from my job as a canine anal gland massager, a job that I really enjoyed and took great pride in.

Feeling even more depressed, I pursued my life long dream to discover who I really am but suffered severe complications as a result of the sex change operation. Have you ever had to walk around all day with a bag of frozen peas in your briefs? Life could not get any worse...

A friend who I met online at "WhoAreYou.com" suggested I visit this site in an attempt to regain my manhood and from what I have seen so far there are certainly some manly men around here.

In all honesty, I have never hunted wild boar, or any other animal for that matter, but I feel I could rise above my issues and pull the trigger provided the animal does not suffer to much. That could end up being very traumatizing...

In conclusion, I feel winning this hunt would boost my self esteem and give me a shot of testosterone that I so desperately need. Afterall, camping, roasted marshmellows and bedtime stories are what the outdoors are all about, and just the thought of spending a night in the woods with grown men gives me goosebumps all over.

Like I said, I think I really need this hunt...

Me please

I want to put my dads name in the hat, I think my dad should get this hunt because, My dad I am never had a great Father son relationship because we did not have anything in common. He would be outside working on cars and trucks, as I was inside drawing and sculpting (I like art) My other brother and my dad were great friends because my little brother loved doing all the same things. One day I was watching a hunting show when I was 12 and decided I wanted to become a hunter. Not knowing anything about it I talked to my dad, he had hunted MANY, MANY years back and was shocked I wanted to do it, but next thing I know he signed me up for my hunter safety class and got me my first 12 gauge shot gun. he waited outside the class for 8 hours so he could drive me to big 5 to get my first license. well, we started by hunting dove. I sucked.. but my dad encouraged me and said there is always tomorrow, well needless to say 15 years later my dad and I have become great friends because of hunting. I have dragged him all over the mountains searching for turkeys, drove him to some random pond in the freezing rain in search of that perfect duck. and not once has he complained. I just want to give him something to say thanks for supporting my hobby and what better way then letting him be the first of us two to bag a Hog. please help me out. Thanks.

Wow, there are some great posts and reasons why the hunt should go to many.

I was rethinking the picking of the winner, would you folks be open to letting the members vote for the winner instead of the staff here? To cut out the vote padding make it a requirement you have to have 10 posts on the forum already to vote?
