Hi there,

I am relatively new to this forum though I have always seached the old threads and man there is some good info on here. That is why I decided to join. Turns out JHO is based in Redlands, CA. My hometown!!! Anyway, I was looking at some of the posts about pigs at laguna mnt and cottonwood and I was hoping to find a google earth file for the area. I have the deer zone one from DFG, dead useful if you ask me. I was also hoping to find a file that outlines Yosemite NP too. I planned on hunting D6 and don't want to be busted by a warden or worse (hippielongstockings). So does anyone have any suggestions on where to find some .kmz files for google earth? I have outlined my own previously, but since my move up to the bay area I haven't acquired any new maps to continue.

As for hog hunting, I have been to FHL and will probably return in the future, however I was hoping to explore some places closer to San Jose first. Any suggestions for that?

Cheers
jordan

DFG, oops DFW now, should have a google earth download available free from their website under deer program information. I downloaded it a couple years back. There is a Laguna Mt in San Diego but we were talking about the one in Coalinga. BLM has a PDF map on there website. It is just southwest of Hernandez Reservoir off Los Gatos-Coalinga road.

Lake Sonoma is archery only (might allow crossbow) these days if you don't mind the drive from So Cal. It is beautiful country. My buddy caught a nice five lb bass on a popper last June. There are some big rainbow trout that are probably shallow right now- folks refer to these as "landlocked steelhead" trapped by the dry creek dam. I believe there are some cats and panfish too... Good midday diversion while the pigs are bedded.

Forgot to mention Cow Mountain, Indian Valley Reservoir, and Cache Creek Natural area all have BLM land holding pigs at least intermittently.
