Hey I have the opportunity to hunt pigs on vandenburg AFB soon with one of my buddys that lives on base. Wanted to know if any one knows where I can pick up some remington bonded accutip slugs. tried bass pro and cheaper than dirt and had no luck. If I can't find them what would be a good slug to use?

Unfortunately, those wonderful slugs can't be used at VAFB. It's deep in the condor zone, so lead free ammo is required.

See the certified ammo list here DFG - Hunting - Certified Nonlead Ammunition Information

Winchester makes the XP3, Federal the Barnes vital shok series, tipped or non tipped and remington makes the copper solid. Those are your ONLY choices for slug ammo inside the condor zone.

I surely miss my winchester supremes 2 3/4, those hollow point noslers were the bomb.

The Vandenberg Rod & Gun Club has non-lead shotgun slugs in stock, but you have to be a member to buy there.

Rich is correct and I want to add this regarding "slugs": we are getting rather loose in our definition of the word "slug" and it has bit some people in the butt. All non toxic 12 and 20 gauge ammo (solids) are sabots, not slugs. I must make this clear 'cause if you have a smoothbore you cannot shoot sabots. We do stock the Remington copper solid and the Federal Premium Barnes, 2 3/4" and 3", in the Federal, tipped and expander.

And yes you have to be a member to buy there.
