good hog hunting[/b]

South of the Tejon Ranch, I would have to say:

Nope, None Ziltch, zero, nadda... unless you call Big Horn Ranch Hunting.

First, welcome to board Rookies.

Second, get a copy of the DFG's free guide to hog hunting in So. Cal. available HERE as an Adobe PDF file. If you don't have an Adobe viewer, there is a free download at Adobe.com.

Read it through to confirm that no good pig hunting exists on public land south of Tejon. If you can, sign up for a Tejon Pig-O-Rama (POR). Or, join the gang up at Camp Roberts for the JHO pig hunt.

Best of luck in the field...

Call or email Barbara Boeck at Tejon. She will send you the info you need. Her number is (661) 663-4288. Her email is bbb@frazmtn.com. In addition to the POR dates that are open to the public, there will be a special Jesses POR just for us here on this forum in May. So start saving your nickles and dimes, mark the dates on the calender and start getting the wife used to the idea that you'll be gone that weekend. It will be a good time.

The Tejon Pig o Ramas are $300.00 plus a once a year liability insurance fee of $10.00. Basically a 2 1/2 day unguided hunt. Lots of land, pigs, scenery, and free camping. Can't really beat the deal.
