Heya folks...

I'm loving Doc's tales of hunting in paradise, but certainly someone over here on the mainland is chasing hogs? Where's all the fresh stories? Pics? I'm gonna head out to try to stick an arrow in a blacktail this weekend, but I need a good vicarious fix of hog hunting too!

No wonder we all keep on gravitating to the Politics and Hot Topics forum.

Darn weather!

Dunno.. seems like if you've got a spot with the right habitat, this is the time to be there.

I sat and watched two hogs feeding out in broad daylight Sunday morning. They milled around out there for close to 30 minutes from the time I spotted them until they wandered off into the canyons. Public land, too. Unfortunately, I'd have had to climb two mountains to get to them without crossing private land.

But now I know where I'm starting next time I hunt that area!

Tough choices, so I'll abstain. I'm partial to tequila myself.

Anyway, LD... you're implying that you would actually get out of that air conditioned shoe store and come hunt the triple-digit heat? I've got the spot, but to get to the right spot is gonna take a horse or a quad... or the endurance of a long distance runner.

And of course, don't worry about that kitty that lives up there. He don't eat much.

Without revealing the exact site, Speck, where is this at (just the general area)?

We are so darn thirsty for hog news, we cling to every bit of dew drop of information.

It's Jesus anytime. He fill us up even for the thirst that cannot be quenched (forgot the exact Bible verse).

Distance Runner why didn't you say something?

I only happen to be a former NCAA Division I, Track and Cross Country Star at my former College!

6.2 miles in 31 minutes hows that for distance?

Well, most of the pigs I'm seeing are on private property with absolutely no hunting(legal) allowed. A drive up hwy 101 and I see them along the road out in the open most mornings...
I did hear a story of some hunters at FHL this past weekend taking some "spray and pray" bow shots at a few little guys(20lbers)...
