Hog Trapping

Do any of you trap hogs? If so, what bait do you use? I've had good luck catching them with corn with Jell-O on top of it.

Some of the trappers/contract hunters around here swear by the leftover mash from the local micro-brewries.

It's like crack to the hogs.

We trap out at our place year round

. We have used just about all the commercial pig baits and they don't seem to work any better than corn. The birds and deer seem to like to eat the corn before the hogs come to get it, so we started soaking our corn in diesel and that solved the problems of the deer and birds eating it and it lasted longer.

Now a Hog that just ate Diesel dont sound to appealing to me- but then again my wife is afraid of all the benzine/cancer warning posted throught my employers place- and then we have sex!!
