So I have the opportunity to hunt some private property up in Twin Oaks, which is just north of Tehachapi. Are there wild hogs in the area? This is about half way between Lake Isabella and the Tejon north boundary. I know from experience Tejon definately has a bunch of pigs, but are they up past Tehachapi? I'm going to check it out next weekend, but would like to know what to expect. :JHO rocks:

There are many pigs on the Wilderness Unlimited leased ranch's overlooking the state prison. If there are pigs on the property you will know very soon by looking for rootings near oak trees. Ask the landowner if anyone nearby grows barley thats where the pigs are. Also ask the owner if you can hunt deer in the fall; if the owner says yes then you have to apply now for a D-10 tag because they run out fast. By the way my 14 year old son loves to hunt.

kid, pack the iron fo sho..there are many hogs in that area..if your on private land
you may have a hog sanctuary..its been a few years since ive hunted tehachapi ..
but from my experience..that just means there are more now..how many acres are
you on?and is there water on the property/food? those would be my first thoughts..
good luck and post up the results..

That sounds encouraging, will check it out next week!

Hey Hatchet, the Big5 in Simi only has 2010/2009 hog tags. Do you know if the one in Thousand Oaks still has the 08/09 ones?
