Hogs on hwy 178

I have scouting for wild pigs for the past month or so on hwy 178 trough rancheria rd and kern canyon rd. I haven't seen no tracks what do ever. Does any one know we're I could harvest some pig as I am in bakersfield? I would highly appreciate any help and/or info.

Haven't heard of any hogs out there. Have you tried Breckenridge road and 28s09 (they still open that seasonally right?)? Thats some steep country out there, they might exist if your willing to hike with a backpack a few miles in and up, though I haven't seen anything other than quail, old deer sign and fish in the rivers I guess I would hunt out there during deer or quail season so at least you wouldn't be wasting your time. Otherwise FHL is your best bet.

IMHO, there are always rumors of hogs taken, but most are taken off of private ranches. I would not waste my gas or time...
Come over here to the central coast where there is a serious problem with pigs... In fact there is a story in the LA times about 40 being trapped in Atascadero that were doing very serious damage. You can find guides or pay to play hunts all over if you look and there is always FHL or Camp Bob...

is FHL better than VAFB ?? Im also in kern and looking to get sum hog meat from time to time.

Yes we would have been killing those suckers! Sucks there isn't any around. So when are heading up to your land to scope it out?
