Has anyone taken any hogs on public land? I've heard the Tehama area has some hogs up there, but it can be rough getting to them. I'm looking for somewhere to go, but can't afford a guide, or to hunt a ranch at the moment. Most of the people I talk to are pretty sketchy on giving any info on public land, which I understand. I'm not asking for a hot spot, just if it's worth looking around. Any info would be helpful.

I havent taken any yet, but I hear the key is to go on a weekday. Im stuck, and am really only free on weekends, so I see their sign all over, but no pigs. Get a weekday to figure out where they are at, and where they are going, then setup for them and wait.

Good luck to ya.

I will have to agree with the cow in that you need a weekday off to increase your chances. If you are stuck to only weekends try one of the military bases. Thats just my two cents.

You might want to check out Spanish Ridge out of Williams, Its hard hunting but there are hogs there. Also Black Butte WLA has some hogs on the NW side.

Is spanish ridge located at Indian Valley WLA? Never been, but looks like as good as place any to chase some pigs.
