Finally got a holding pen built at our place to keep the hogs until they weigh 60#+ or we have enough bigger ones to make a trip to the buying station. We still need to make a better loading chute/ramp and a watering system that they can't get in, but what we have now will work.

Hey Gus.. The pens look good.. Is that guy still buying them around Lingleville (I think)??? My uncle was trapping a bunch of them out on the ranch last year and giving away what he could. The rest he took somewhere over by Stephenville to sell.. Just wondering if you were going to the same place. I thought my uncle said that the guy was not buying any longer, so maybe not....

Hey Tim, I know that there is two people in Stephenville buying them, but I don't think there is anyone in Lingleville. Where we are trapping these hogs is about 80 miles south of Stephenville so I don't sell any here, we take them to a lady in Cherokee.

Yes we have our place plus two of our neighbors let us trap on their land, about 7 miles west of Lometa and we just got another place last weekend to trap on that is at the Bend, about 10 miles from Lometa.

We can do whatever we want until deer season starts. We could still trap hogs during deer season, but we take all our traps off of everybody's land except ours because we don't want to be bothered with or mess with the deer hunters. They are paying for the land and are only there for a few months, and we get free access and get to do whatever we wish the rest of the year, so it is all good
