Hog Hunters !!!

way down in the JHO Forums is one about "GPS" and such, I saw a post for the "Vista" for $169. This model is pretty high-tech and expensive, I've seen it for no less than $215 around the 'net.

I just-now called and ordered mine: $151.53 delivered !!

Here's the details:

Call OfficeMax, 800-283-7674, press "1" when you get the chance.

the Garmin Etrex "Vista" item number is 20325319, price is $169.98.

tell them you have a coupon, and use coupon code 1225-7444-8139 for another $20 off (coupon may only be good through September 18th, I'm not sure).

I did all that..... and the guy on the phone said $151.53 would be billed to my credit card !!!!

YAHOO !!!!

maybe I should have ordered a hundred more ???

Cheers,

Carl

I had ordered one online on the 10th of this month total with tax was 184.00.... I just called and told them after waiting on the phone for what seemed like at least 10 minutes that I had found my "coupon". She told me that I have to use the coupon within 24 hours and I would have to save it for my next order. So I told her a buddy just ordered one for 151.53 and that I wanted to cancel my previous order and re-order it with her. Bingo 151.53, thanks again Carl for the tip on the 30.00 dollar coupon. The only downside is they are on backorder from Garmin and who knows when they will arrive???My savings will buy 2 pig tags hopefully I will need them..... Thanks again

the long story is that I couldn't find the Vista while searching around the officemax website, so I called their 800 number. The lady on the phone found it, but not in the database, rather in a printed catalog.... at $300 !! I said, nope that isn't it. She couldn't help beyond that, so I hung up.

I did a bit of 'net searching and found all the above details in a geocaching forum. I again called the 800 number and the deal went down perfectly !!

I already have a bottom-of-the-line Garmin Etrex, but I just couldn't pass this up...... you know how new toys can be.

Cheers,

Carl

p.s. there is a huge amount of "traffic" about this price opportunity, plus matching at Best Buy !! .... see this thread also:

p.p.s. pdf downloads from Garmin: "GPS Guide For Beginners" and "Using A Garmin GPS With Paper Maps"

I wasn't as lucky but I still got.

The price is now $199.98.
With the coupon (the number is still good) I'm having a vista shipped for $183.15 total.
Not bad.

hmmm......

I read over at another non-JHO forum (from where I originally found all the details) that one fellow had ordered a Vista, but didn't know about the coupon.
so he called back, said he wanted the coupon price reduction also.
"they" said "no."
so he said he wanted to cancel the order..... "they" said "hmm, we will give allow the coupon reduction."

in other words, "they" probably guessed he would cancel the order and immediately call back anyway.

for $45, it might be worth a try.......

Cheers,

Carl

I missed out
<

I asked to talk to the Manager "Lorie" (no last name) at 18006615931 x8122.

Try as i might she was not going to budge from $199.98 even when I asked her to look at the backloged orders for $169.98 from just the last two months. She "can not see any sold for that price- and if it was a sale- it is over"
<

I missed out again-

there is a $55 Garmin Etrex Vista Rebate printable at - http://www.redzuco.com/garminrebate.gif

but it needs to be postmarked by 10/25. I will try to see if my local Best Buy and Circuit City can match the price.

Wish me luck!

And TY VERY MUCH for posting this!

Shipped on (showong Monday- but at least by) Tuesday for $184.01 (including the $30 coupon that expired on 9-18 for $30 - she did not need a cupon # when I called back directly to her and she said "No Problem") - I was still on a speaker phone-

Lori is also emailing me a recipt via email- and I will be "Guaranteed"- also supposed to be in the email- the box so I can include the UPC and the recipt for the Garmin $55 rebate for a total of $134.01 . again the $55 Mail-In rebate is http://www.redzuco.com/garminrebate.gif

I checked my order status last Friday.... the nice telephone lady says I'm backordered until early October..... and she provided my order number.

THANKS MUCH for that rebate coupon URL .... I noticed in the small print that the rebate request must be postmarked by November 25th.... it won't take me that long to fill out and mail. If it works out then the "vista" will be under $100 !!
