Today was my first time seeing hooded mergansers, we have all three varieties.

Great pics there, the 2nd and 3rd ones are amazing. See a lot of wood ducks, mallards, and geese here. Have tried getting close to them on the water too many times to count, but never can quite get as close as I want to before they take flight. Funny thing is while deer hunting one stand by the river, I can watch the birds fly in and out, and float all over out in front of me without a cae in the world. Maybe I need to go out with the camera sometime and sit there.

Zach, your taxidermist must love you after duck season, lol. Almost every time I take a pic of a duck now I try to imagine how it would look mounted... the last thing I need is something else to spend money on.

edit- just a bad image of a red-breasted from today. I could have gotten a couple of awesome shots of this bird, but blew it because I had my 2X TC on.
