last nite I went up to where I had been waching several nice bulls, and last nitethere were 9 of them together. 2 had already shed and one verry respectfully endowed bull had but one side. So I find a comfy spot, and zoom my camera on them. After about 10 or 15 minutes something made them nervous and they start trotting straight towards me. I had put my camera down by this time and my binos were locked on the one with one side. He began to sway his head back and forth as he trotted allong and sure enough it fell off. I couldnt believe it. I actually seen him throw it off. It was a nice 6 point with a brow tine. (I don't count brow tines as points) When I got it home I measured the brow tine at 18" Can't wait to get off work to go look for the other side. Any other horn hunters out there? And have you ever seen any actually throw them?
Shoot straight.

that's the one thing I dream of seeing one of these days, a deer actually shedding.

Had a buck across the street a few weeks ago, didn't take my eyes off him until he ran off into the woods in hopes I'd see him drop em.

Man that's a shed hunter's dream! You can't get much more fresh than that! The other one is probably not too far away.

Show us the pics when you find it!

That's AWESOME!!
I got to witness 2 deer shedding already and missed a third deer shedding by seconds earlier this year.
Earlier this year I was walking a ridge shedhunting when I saw a deer coming up over the back side.I dropped to the ground waiting to see what was coming. The first deer was a small spike carrying both sides. When the spike crested the hill it started going down the ridge away from me..I watched it til a second deer came over the top a 6pt.The 6pt. instead of following the spike came my way. That's when the spike came back up the ridge to follow the 6pt.When it came back up it was missing one side.I looked for 45mins. for that antler ,but never found it.(yet)

Back a couple years ago my brother and I were doing some late Jan. bowhunting. We were putting on some little one man drives to each other. On one of the drives 2 8pts. and a doe came running by me,my shot was low. When my brother finished the drive we went to retreave my arrow. My brother said we won't see those deer for weeks so I left my bow lay where I was standing for the drive. When we got over to my arrow the one buck came running back down the hill.
The buck saw us and turned and tried going though a chain link fence. It rammed the fence a few times sending one side flying.

The other buck I got to see dropped both sides.I was shedhunting when I jumped some doe and a 6pt. carrying both sides. When the buck jumped some logs the first antler went flying.I marked the spot and kept watching the buck run down though some open woods. He kept shaking his head like he had a swarm of bees flying around his head. All of a sudden the second antler went flying. There were small patches of snow laying at the time and the second antler went when he was running though a patch of snow.I marked that spot then went for that antler first.
When I got to the snow patch I had a hard time finding that second antler.I could see the tracks in the snow, but no antler. Then I realized the buck was running back beyond where the doe went though.I went back further and picked up the single tracks from the buck. Then I spotted the antler sticking out of the snow.
The first antler to drop was easy to find,it was laying in the middle of the pile of downed trees laying.

I know this sounds like I'm full of it already. There was one other time upstate Pa. with the elk. There was a group of people watching some bulls feed in a backyard where the guy was baiting them in.My boy and I watched those bulls for almost an hour feeding and walking around.Five mins. after we left the one bull dropped both sides. No way we could have gotten those antlers, but it would have been neat to see.
