Am I going to have to come up there again and show you how to take pictures? I guess while I am doing that you can show me how to shoot?

THE BIG HOG WAS 130LBS AT THE BUTCHER! A BIG PIG!

MY BROTHER AND I REALLY ENJOYED OUR TRIP TO R&J ALOT AND WILL DEFINITLY BE BACK IN THE NEAR FUTURE. RANDY IS EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT HIS HUGE RANCH AND THE PIGS HABITS. HE PUT US ON SEVERAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR GREAT HOGS. MY BROTHER TOOK THE BIG PIG WITH A SADDLE RIFLE 44 MAG AND OPEN SIGHTS! ONE SHOT AT FIFTY YARDS WHILE THE PIG WAS ON THE RUN AND SENT THAT COPPER MESSAGE OF LOVE RIGHT THROUGH THE HEART, THE PIG DROPPED TWENTY FEET LATER AND SAID HE WAS DONE!

I GOT SOOOO LUCKY ON MY PIG, IT WAS AN OPEN AREA AND USING MY 12 GAUGE WITH A STUPID COPPER SLUG THAT LOOKED LIKE A TRACER WHILE FLIPPING END OVER END, DUE TO NO RIFFLING ON MY BARREL, I SHOT HIGH TWICE AND THEN GOT THE THIRD AT 75 YARDS TO WORK IT'S WAY THROUGH MOST OF THE INTERNAL ORGANS AND WEDGE IN THE FAT UNDER THE SKIN. RANDY FOUND THE SLUG WHILE SKINNING AND THE HOLLOW POINT DIDN'T EXPAND BECAUSE I THINK THE BULLET WAS FLYING END OVER END. NO ACCURACY AT ALL JUST DUMB LUCK AND I'LL TAKE THAT ANY DAY.

RANDY AND JAY ARE VERY COOL FOLKS AND HAVE A GREAT PROGRAM GOING ON OVER THERE. JAY A.K.A. "BILLY GOAT" CAN NOT ONLY PUT YOU RIGHT ONTOP OF HOGS BUT HE CAN GET THE DIRTY WORK DONE WITHOUT BREAKING A SWEAT.

HEY RANDY, NEXT TIME I'LL STICK TO THE BOW...... OR MAYBE THE .223?

THANKS GUYS IT WAS AWESOME,

ROGER

Freshhunt:

I've hunted with RNJ in Coalinga. My hunting partner and I have been thinking about giving FHL a shot. How about you?

Will probably be at FHL on opening day for deer and try my luck then.

Was looking into cottonwood off of 152 but havent had a chance to give that a try for hogs. Ive been doing alot of upland game hunting during the seasons.

Trying to make this the year to bag my first buck but its hard on public land

It isn't legal to hunt hogs in Cottonwood with anything other than a bow until the first day of A zone Rifle season.

Not saying anyone was going to but that CalTip money would pay for plenty of gas

Seriously, cottonwood has seperate rules from the rest of the zone so make sure your all legal before you walk it.......its not worth being wrong.
