how do I hunt Vandenberg???

Whats going on, i am a Cilivian DOD employee, but not at vandenberg. is there a way for me to hunt there and bring a non DOD person with me or whats the deal is there a link to the base hunting i looked and could not find anything.

I don't think they distinguish between DoD on base or off. If you have a valid ID, then you can get set up to hunt. You are not, however, authorized to bring a guest on. That distinction is limited to active and retired military only and is only granted to one person for a total of nine hunting days in a season.

To hunt on VAFB you must: have a valid California hunting license. Go to the BX customer service counter and purchase a use fee stamp for the appropriate game i.e. small game (birds), pig or deer. For DoD it is $35.50 per sticker. Take that to the Fish and Game office located adjacent to the Arguello (South Base) gate and get registered. Note: HAVING A VALID USE FEE STICKER DOES NOT AUTHORIZE YOU TO HUNT! You must bring a letter with you to F & G from your boss indicating that you are gainfully employed by the government. With all of this in hand, you will get an authorization, a copy of the maps and the O.I. for hunting on Vandenberg.

Thanks alan, Im a firefighter and off for a week at a time and going pig hunting is a good way to kill some time while off work. i did not know about hte letter from my base/boss so that helped alot thanks and ill give you a call this week
