I was doing a search for a guy I used to hunt with in south Tx.
This place came up.
His name is Buck Medely.
If any of you know him or have contact with him, I would like to get ahold of the guy.
I did a google search on his name and found some videos of him shooting big gars with bowfishing gear. Then I signed up with LiveHunt.com because I do videos myself. It seems like LiveHunt.com is modeled after myspace in which case, being that he is a member, you should be able to find him. Try that out.
I later found a video with him saying he's from San Anjonio, Texas.
I've seen that guy on TV on the Outdoor Channel on a show called the Cambell's Outdoor Challenge. It involved ametures filming hunts which included deer, pigs, and turkey. I'm pretty sure he's well known in Texas.
Buck Medley is known for being a hog hunting guide in Texas, and he does videos also. He does a good job with videos and hunting.
I dont think Buck is a member here though. We do have a Roscoe member from Texas, and he posts here in the Hog Forum. You might could email our Roscoe, and see if he has any info.
Thank's everyone. Yes that is the same guy. I was just hoping one of you knew him personally. I tried to get a hold of him through livehunt with no luck.
I'll check out member Roscoe!
Thank's again.
If any of you ever meet this guy tell him, I said "HOG WARS!" he will understand.
beastie, I thought the same thing.. However, after looking at it a little closer, the camera is almost on the ground, and he is standing back from it.. so maybe some trick photography involved.
Also not sure how the contest works, but it probably has to be measured on certified/contest scales, which could indicate that he probably dressed it and put it in a cooler before taking it in to be measured. (and the contest weight was 226 dressed)
either way though, thats a hawg.
Yup lan-lord. And if you position yourself farther back, the foreground will look humongous.
My perspective was my 180 pounder in Tejon which is 240 pound on hoof and it was smaller than this monster. Hence my guess that the 226 is field dressed.
But this one is definitely huge even with trick photography. Look at the tusks.
I can't make up my find, those dudes either look like a hell of a lot of fun, or really freaking scary. I'm not sure if I'd want to be on a hog chase or caught after dark with either of them.
