Good things. We're moving forward (in a good direction, I think) with the program. Next step is to finalize some things in regulation at some Commission meetings, then we can write some contracts with private landowners.

We've an internal deadline to offer a hunt, but I don't want to post it here if something unforeseen stalls us. I can't show all my cards yet.ig-laughing:

My vote is NO on the APPLICATION fee. I don't mind paying an access fee after being drawn for the hunt--- you're going to pay to get on private property anyway.

As I understand it from the previous posts by Marc, DFG pays the access fee and the drawing application fee is what DFG uses to pay for that access fee. So, if I am correct in understanding the setup........the drawing application fee already covers the access fee for the lucky hunter. Hope this is correct.

P.S. It wouldn't hurt to access private land...........even if it is on a drawing basis......especially if the drawing fee already covers the access fee.

hoytrdye: Not yet. Been busy with the bear regulations lately. I'm drafting the contract with one landowner in NorCal right now for a pig hunt, but have yet to receive guidance on how to structure the application process. Thanks for keeping me honest though...

I hear people talk about offering Junior hunts but lets not forget about Women as well. My wife went on the first Turkey Hunt that was offered for Juniors and Women put on by the DFG and I thought it went very well. Granted the Wardens working it didn't understand the importance of getting set up before light but the hunts went really well. I got to play guide for the wife which made it fun as well. That one turkey hunt got her hooked and she has since been hunting them every season.

Ill be fine with the 5 dollar application fee and 25 dollars.... If they have something for youth make it to like 17.... hahaha, so i can hunt..... never killed a hog...
