Yes as long as it's a good hunt. If they know what they are doing and you kill a hog or Atleast get a shot at one. I'd say 20%.
I always ask the outfit booking the trip what they expect. My wife and I did an off-shore fishing trip out of the FL Keys, where the Captain and First Mate worked their arse's off to get us in fish (Dolphin or mahi-mahi). Some 30 miles or so out of port, we found the fish. Ended up the wife was in the flying bridge, and we have a 35# Bull and 2, 25# females hooked at the same time. Needless to say, I was willing to tip for the 60+ pounds of fillets we brought home. Nothing under 12# was kept.
Ask up-front, then go from there. I've left small tips at 5star outfits, and tipped a 20 year old chef in the Keys 30+% since he prepared us an outrageous dinner, and had a baby coming.
When in doubt, I always pay. I've received much better service on the second trip. Don't think the guides don't keep notes.
Have fun out there, I'm off to check my Pork shoulder on the grill .......................
