I knew he had a website, but when I searched Dead Sled, I kept getting a site for some guy's converted hearse.

I like the roll-up configuration, and it does seem pretty sturdy. We'll soon find out!

Scott: You can't use the word "easy" in regards to recovering your pig at 2am, period. How many times did I fall into the stinging nettles? Six, seven... But, it sure was fun! I'd do it all over again.

Compared to the 4+ hours I spent dragging by myself, It was a piece of cake after you and Buck-eye showed up. Forgot about the nettles. I got into them too, just not near as bad as you did. I hope I get a chance to return the favor for at least one of you guys this trip.

I don't know what you guys are getting so excited about. Who ever sold you that there are pigs on that ranch was pulling your leg.

There's not a pig within miles of that place.

Oh yea, Speck they don't do any prizes or anything for the first or largest pig do they? Are we going to get a pool going lets say for the largest?

Nope, no pigs. It's really just an expensive camping trip.

Tejon isn't doing any kind of pool or award for the private hunts like ours. There was a lot of chatter here last year about doing a pool, but it never materialized. Those 12-14 hour hunting days kinda threw a monkeywrench into the social aspect of the hunt, and most of us were hunting from the time we hit the gate.

I wouldn't be opposed to joining in on some kind of friendly contest, but of course we all know that it's illegal to offer prizes for game animals without some kind of special permit.

Oh, while I'm here...

Anyone planning on making the hunt this year needs to get me your paid app by next Thursday. If you're still thinking about it, but haven't got an application yet, get me your info. I'll be off hunting all weekend, but if you request an application by Monday, you can still squeak under the wire.
