I spoke to them a couple months ago, I asked if I could take 2 javelina. They said I could but had to buy a second permit and each permit is good for 30 days. Either way, I think its a good deal. Let me know how you guys do, my dad lives in Kingman and I have been kicking this hunt around as a quick visit to my pops house.

My oldest brother lives in Kingman and today he texted me video of some local newspaper Article stating that they (in the Hulapai mountains) are now having (I think he said) 5400 tags available for Javelina from this Friday til the 16th of February. It's a HAM hunt, which stands for Handguns (centerfires), Archery, Muzzleloaders. He says 4in barrel is minimum length allowed for the Handguns.

He says "lot of fish cops i stay out (of) there". I asked what "Fish Cops?" meant. He states "Game wardens check points vehicle searches"

What date and time are you picking me up?

He's asking you Mel...he's right along your route. I'm coming from the other direction...Flagstaff where I'll be attending a university function days before this trip.

Lol, I'm still trying to put together some dates. Spoke to my dad last night, he's really pressuring me to get down there to see him. I told him if I go, not sure how much time i would be visiting, will be hunting, he understood, lol. I'm thinking maybe March sometime for me.

TheGdog, not sure if the 5400 tags is correct. Hualapi mountains holds Javelina, but not a ton and that's a lot of tags. The Hualapi Indian resv is where they are talking about going.

I haven't gone yet. I am leaving tomorrow morning and will stay until Monday most likely. Since ive never been there I am just going to go by whatever the game and fish tell me are good areas and then figure it out from there. I am hoping to stick one with my bow. I got one earlier in the year for the AZ archery hunt. Have you ever hunted on the rez before?

Just returned from the Haulapai Reservation...we searched high...

...and we searched low...

...and everything in between. At times the wind blew so cold the spotter shook almost as much as our bodies. Saw oodles of elk and if I had tags I could have arrowed elk, deer and antelope last week AND THEY ALL HAD HEADGEAR! But Gary & I could not buy a javelina...zip, zero, zilch. Never saw one of the stinky little buggers and WE COVERED THE RESERVATION. Just frustrating at times. Found a Democrat Senator visiting the Reservation while there but we were unable to engage in any intelligent conversation.

That's his usual position! Well, when he's not squatting.
