Hi all. looking at doing a hog hunt in Oklahoma, or possibly north Texas. We hunted down east of San Antonio last year and had a great time, just looking at cutting down on drive time. One of the places we are looking hard at is Big Horn Outfitters, by Byars Oklahoma. Is anybody fimiliar with them or the place? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

iahntr,

I don't have any info on this particular operation, but welcome to JHO! Hopefully one of our Texan members will be able to sing out about these guys.

And to all of you... if you've used an operation, post up your experiences and opinions in the Guide and Outfitters Review section. It can become a great resource for folks like iahntr when they're trying to decide where to go.

Oh.. and to add...

iahntr, a great way to get honest feedback for any Outfitter or Guide is to call them directly and ask for references. If possible, get a mix of successful hunters and those who were unsuccessful, then follow up on that information. Any operation that will not give you plenty of references should raise a red flag. There are a ton of hunting operators in Texas and a ton of hogs. You should be able to find a reputable and cooperative outfitter with very little homework.

Thanks for the welcome, and the advice. I havn't asked for references from them yet, thought I would check here and maybe a couple other sites first. This year we are a little more limited with time, so I thought we would try to cut down on drive time, from Iowa. Like I said, any other suggestions appreciated. Thanks
