I am planning a hunt at Hunter Liggett in April/May

Anybody ever been there? Any suggestions?

I'm having a hard time finding .270 in non lead also.

I really wanted to do a pistol shoot with my .357 but I hear it's next to impossible to find unleaded loads

How is she able to give a tour? I thought you were only supposed to be in the area you were signed into when you are hunting. Is it just a tour of the paved roads or does she have some special pass? Just curious.

Hey Bayedsolid,
You can give a tour of all the T.A.'s you would be hunting hogs on from the paved roads, with good maps you can show someone pretty much exactly where to go. I can not drive around on the base any differently than anyone else.
I just happened to spend quite a bit of time doing other contract work over there on the base (I captured the buffalo & ID the wild cattle) so I know the base piggies pretty good.
A lot of the hot spots are pretty easy to find once you know where they are.
My 4 hour tour also includes areas at the Las Padres Nat'l forest...
Everybody that stays here at the resort that are hunting the fort get tons of free help though. I think I spend about 40.00 on gas for my little 4 hour tour- I do it more to help the guys so they are not so lost over there, it's a little overwhelming for a new pig hunter to try to hunt pigs on a big 'ol place like that, yet alone keep from getting lost over there. Heck, you could spend the whole year in wrong areas that don't even hold pigs.

rdrrm8e-
You can email me - I'll help you out with info- I recently decided I am not doing any tours right now though with the gas prices, but I'll sure help you anyway I can. deedy@brysonresort.com

XD is just being modest- he's that way.
It would hard to be a "road hunter" on TA 13E.

13E go get 'em tiger.
There's actually yet another pig carcass right now on Jolon Road right where they get smacked by the cars.
Good luck!

Too bad....I was hoping for a bison hunt.

And just to clarify myself Deedy.....I wasn't implying you were doing anything wrong or the tour wasn't worth it. I was just curious as to how you went about it.
Off topic---Do you still have that Catahoula/Plott pup, and if so, does it ever open on track?
