I went out sunday hunting deer and about 45 min. before dark 2 black hogs came out from behind me about 45 yards. I wanted to shoot the big boar would never come in close enough. We don't have that many on our property. I'm guessing, maybe 7-10. We caught one last year (sow that weighed 450lbs.) Is this very big for a hog because the ones we havent caught yet are bigger. I'm not a hog hunter but would like to get them off my land because i've heard they'll run your deer off. These hogs are some very big animals. I think someone caught them and they got loose. I've never seen any little ones but get about 8 of the same hogs on trail cams.

Duc, where abouts do you live? If you are talking California hogs, 450-pounds is very large for the animals we have here. If you're local and want to get rid of them, I'd be happy to pick up a few pig tags and help you out. Good luck with the deer.

Yes, where are you located? Hogs can really scare those dear away!!

You should tell us where you live, and with your permission, I'm sure there are a few hunters who would clear those nasty hogs from your property

This has a definite element of truth to it. Though a thriving hog population won't make your property devoid of all deer, it will certainly hinder the abundance of deer.

You can certainly manage both species on a property, but if a landowner is fond of deer, I strongly suggest aggressive hog eradication.

Duc,
Are you in Texas?? Sounds like it from the enormous size of the beasts. Anyways, I am planning on heading to Texas for some hog hunts(Dallas area or maybe Houston area) this October. If you are anyway close & you need some eradication done, I can help. I have been hunting since 1976. I am 55 yrs. old and a responsible family man. Kindly send me an e-mail if you need help. If the hogs are plentiful, they have to be baited & shot at night, which I do. Whatever you may come up with, shoot straight & good eating.
God bless. larrysogla.

I'm in georgia. Guys i've talked to saw the cam pics of these hogs 2 years ago and they were 350 plus then. We caught one last year with dogs trying to get them out of there. Some the guys with us thought that these hogs had something wrong with them that kept them from breeding. We have extremly large hogs around here, (well around the river). Have you heard the story of "Hogzilla" killed here in Georgia. They said this hog was a 1,000 lb boar. Its on the the internet. He was said to have had 9 inch tusk. They have a photo of the boar and the guy who took him.

I'm from dodge county. These hogs are definetly not wanted. We've been talking in our hunting club about building a trap. I hope we can get these hogs.
