Hello Everyone,

Just over the weekend I was out driving north of lake cachuma behind the private property looking to see any opportunities to find good spots for upland bird hunting or deer. Was wondering if anyone has been around this area or hunts this area. Looking to see if the area is good for upland birds with a dog or perhaps getting an Lower A Zone tag eventually. Love to hear what others think of the area.

Thanks follow hunters.

It's totally amazing, limits everytime I go and nobody else around. I want to tell as many people about this place as I can on a public forum especially to new fellas with 1 post. It's the best spot ever.

Back around 2010 I lived in Santa Barbara for a few years. I would ride my ATV up E. Camino Ceilo to the Divide Peak OHV Trail. I could ride almost to Lake Casitas. I would bring my shotgun during Quail Season. That terrain is so vast, steep and heavily brushed I had limited success. I would also take the 154 to Paradise Road up to Upper Oso Campground. I could ride the OHV trail to get up to Buckhead, which I could overlook Lake Cachuma. Again, its vast, very steet and heavily brushed. I would rate this area a 10 on difficulty to hunt. I saw a few deer, again this was back around 2010. Last I heard Upper Oso was closed. It would be very difficult to hunt up there if you were just starting out and without a ATV. I still have a few old pics from up there. Some guy, named Danny, went over the cliff on his motorcycle and died up there, it is really steep (and weird)>

Pretty sickening you'd post pics of racial epithets and swastikas. Like what the fuck is wrong with you?

Its a creepy feeling being way out on Divide Peak and coming upon these tanks. Posting the picture will let others make an informed decision if they want to go out there or at least be prepared for what is painted on this tank. I got stopped on the the trail by some local dirt bike riders “wanting to know what i was doing out here”? At 6’3” and 215 lbs I told them “anything I want to”. They hauled axx away.
As I said, this is a good place for off road riding but I would not recommend hunting up there.
