just curious, what are the rules for ATV usage for hunting public land. I have this nice spot in my garage thats just begging for for a Honda Foreman or Rancher *BUT* i am not about to buy one if I cant take it out and hunt.

Shoot, depending on what neighborhood you live in, I'd rent that space out for $250 a month. That's 5 or 6 guided hog hunts a year!

Depends on the area. Most BLM and national forest land you can ride atv and some you cannot. There are also periodic closures to atv and other vehicles. As for hunting my understanding is that you just cannot shot from a motorized vehicle. Dismount and fire away.

You can ride most of the roads in the BLM and National Forests. Check ahead of time for closures and other info.

In general, you have to stay on the roads and designated trails. No off-road or cross-country riding... which should stand to reason anyway, but there are a bunch of yahoos out there who don't seem to care (they're the ones who give other ATV and dirt bikers a bad name).

you also need a helmet and no passengers.......and if you get one I recomend the honda rancher ES........

If you can ride an atv there, so can everyone else. Because of that I would see no point in hunting there.
