But when I do it’s this size. The big hogs are to much work and I don’t like the taste. This size I can easily move around and get the meat that I want. I only eat fresh pork, never frozen, since I can be picky.

Good observation on the habitat, food and cover. Where I hunt, the pigs are seconds away from running to cover and safety. I'll post a video later showing what went down.
It seems that the California pig population cycles drastically with the droughts and corresponding dry land barley,wheat and acorn crops. In any case they are fun to hunt and obviously need heavy control. thoughts on hunting versus other control methods? Some states have outlawed hunting them (regionally ) because they say pressured pigs are harder to trap etc .. I always get that feeling they are just trying to restrict hunting anyway possible !
