I'm going to write this up as an article for the hunting columns section, but here is a pic. The boar weighed about 150. I did hit him in the ass, but he bled out from an artery and the dogs found him dead.

It was the best weekend at Chopper's I've had. The pigs were out all hours of the day.

It's official... Arrowslinger is no longer Ass Shooter! That title has now been transferred to BigHorn!

Congrats on finally bringing one home, Dave.

It would be nice if animals would stand still while we aim and shoot at them, but it doesn't always work out that way. I lucked out with the artery hit.

I think the best part about the hunt was meeting four more JHOers I didn't know. They are all great guys to hunt with.

richw had to leave early, but he left us some door prizes in the form of nifty JHO hats, one of which I am modeling in the above photo.

Thanks rich! You'll get 'em next time. Believe me, there will be a next time.

I have a little red rash on my hand. With all of the poison oak we clammered through tracking my pig, I knew it was only a matter of time even though I washed with technu three times yesterday.

Something I didn't know before this weekend is that wild hogs eat poison oak. They were chowing on that stuff like it was filet mignon.

Have fun with your PO outbreak, I feel for ya, it sucks. Once you wash it all off after returning from the hunt, there is nothing to do but ride it out and maybe get some Prednesone if it turns real bad!

I think the pigs and deer roll in it on purpose as their final statement about not being too happy that we are turning them into sausages, but I could be wrong

The past two deer i've shot were eating poison oak..in cleaning the skull today, oak leaves and twigs everywhere. You're in for some good times ahead.
Congrats again........Ass Shooter!

I had to get some of that prednisone after my last trip to Choppers man that stuff works knocked out the rash in about 30 hours!
I will be keeping a bottle of them pills on hand from now on!

Both the pig and the deer I got at choppers ran into the poison oak after being hit. Fortunately it's just as lethal to shoot them through the heart as it appears to be through the Ass!

They both fell only half way into the P.O. and I was able to drag them clear of it but I still ended up getting it on my neck and my,.... well I don't know how I got it there. some leaves must have fluttered down the back of my drawers while riding around in the safari wagon? that s#@t sucks!

Awesome pig Dave. 5 hunts at Choppers and you got one. Just by looking at sheer fact everyone got a shot off tells you allot. We were all pretty lucky to have been their this weekend. Nice meeting you and sorry I took off without saying goodbye. Again congrats, and I've ordered my feet from Crooked Horn.

Take care,
Frank

Hey Archer32,

Remember that when you feel most discouraged is the time to get out there and go after it. Get back out there as quick as you can and get your wind back.

I'm thinking I'll probably be ready to go back up there in the spring. Maybe we can hook up on a trip.

Here is a pic of Sully and me with my pig. Thanks for hunting with me Sully.
