idaho bowhunting for elk

My buddies and myself are coming from pa to bowhunt elk. It is our first time. Any help would be greatly appreicated. We our hunting the diamond creek area. If anyone has hunted this area please give us any info you can. Thanks Steelerayin :

Which unit is that, and what National Forest? Are you guys going DIY or guided? Not sure where Diamond Creek is.

Diamond creek area

It is a great area, I have heard lots of elk. Some wolves and gets quite a few hunters. Good luck.

I have hunted elk in unit 67, across the river. Pretty good elk populations in that area because the wolves have yet to move in. lots of timber and aspen mixed with sage. just wondering, why not hunt colorado? its closer for you and better elk populations with lots of otc tags!
