Idaho Falls Unit 63 & 63A

My in-laws just moved to Idaho Falls this past year. My wife wants to go visit them next year. So I say to myself man I have got to coincide this with a hunting trip (Not big fans of the in-laws so this would give me an excuse to leave). Anybody know if this area is good for hunting Elk? Is it hard to get tags for this area? I am willing to drive an hour and half in any direction. I tried doing a search for this area but did not find anything. Thanks in advance.

I've hunted 67a which is just behind the palisades resevoir (Archery) about a hour from IDF's not that hard a draw from what I understand, for gun. Look for Jackknife Rd out of Etna follow it up in the mountains, saw a lot of elk(Scared the hell out of them with my bow

If you have an hour and a half you have alot of areas to hunt. There are good elk hunting on the east side of I.F. in the hills and on the desert you can find elk also.
